    Hi, Ich bewundere echt eure Fähigkeiten auf der Highline ;-) ;-). Bei euch sieht das so leicht aus. Ich bin in dem schönen Hobby frisch eingestiegen und bin Stolz nach 8 Trainingstagen mehrfach knapp 3m laufen zu können, Slackline 11m im Garten. Habe einige Dinge von Slacktivity gekauft und schaue eure Videos sehr gerne. Zur Zeit mache ich Pause, da meine Knie und Beine sehr brennen, es geht schwer weg. Habt ihr ein paar Tipps um dies vorzubeugen? Ist das ganz normal? Nette Grüße Kevin. PS: Ich liebe das "Seahorse".

    • @SlacktivityCh
      @SlacktivityCh 10 днів тому

      Hi Kevin, zu Beginn ist es ganz normal, dass die Beine brennen. Koordinativ ist das Slackline sehr anspruchsvoll. Auch intramuskulär. Bei den ersten Versuchen oder auch jedes Mal wenn du eine neue Line probierst, ist deine Muskulatur sehr angespannt, weil der Körper noch nicht so recht weiss, welchen Muskel er wie stark ansteuern soll. Dadurch wirst du sehr schnell müde. Dies ist aber auch der Zeitpunkt, wo du deine Gelenke am meisten stabilisierst. Es sollte jedes Mal ein wenig besser und entspannter werden. Versuch insgesamt, deine Muskeln nicht übertrieben anzuspannen sondern einigermassen locker zu bleiben, so weit es geht.

    Thank you for this great material, super interesting to watch! I have a question though- whats the advantage of a kingpin shackle over a screw- locked carabiner? Seems to le like its a lot easier to leave a shackle not locked completely with a pin than to leave a binner unsecured. I'm a rope access technician, just started walking on a slackline, and all those rigging techniques that you're using are familiar to me, but with a totally different equipment. I will be super grateful for Your answer!

    • @SlacktivityCh
      @SlacktivityCh 11 днів тому

      First big difference is the breaking strength. Even though the weight is similar, the KingPin is 2-3x stronger compared to a carabiner. Also: Carabiners are really prone to cycling loading whereas the KingPin is much more resistent with it. Then a screw gate carabiner can unscrew with vibrations. In climbing this is mostly less of an issue, but in highlining much more so. Once the KingPin is properly locked it is a an extremely strong, safe and light weight option.

    Wird das Material nicht sehr beansprucht durch das schwingen? Wie lang kann man die Line "sicher" verwenden?

    • @SlacktivityCh
      @SlacktivityCh 11 днів тому

      Für das Band ist die repetitive Belastung nicht wirklich ein Problem. Wenn wir aber Karabiner im Main-System hätten, wäre dies problematisch. Die grössten schwächenden Faktoren sind das UV-Licht und mechanische Schäden. Dieses Band ist zertifiziert für 6 Monate Dauer-Nutzung (auch Tage an denen die Line nicht benutzt wird aber in der Sonne hängt, zählen als Nutz-Tage).

    One mistake i often see in the park is overusing the ground to get in the right position to stand up. If you get used to that little help, then on a highline it will be difficult to find yourself comfortable while positioning to stand up.

    After about one month, I have just watched your video a 2nd time. In the meanwhile, I had a few highline sessions where I watched my friends rigging, and I also co-rigged. And - surprise, surprise: I think I could follow and understand every single step now! 🙂 I will probably watch your video again in maybe one or two months, just to see if I fully understood the whole rigging setup. Thanks again for this great video, merry christmas and a happy new year!

    wait. so has my line been to tight? Man. I been really cranking on the line to make it as tight as I could . . . come to find out that I should set up higher, and make the line looser and pliable. I have been doing it all wrong. I will have to set up a looser line such that the line is setup high, but the slack brings the line lower so I can easily stand on the line from a lowered height. I didn't know that the slack and the give of the line helps with balance. I will say, though, that i had some clues that this could have been true, as I found that when I bounced up and down on the line, even if it was a tight line, that I had a bit more balance at times. I think that is the same principle, sort of, using line movement and sway as a way to keep the balance.

    • @SlacktivityCh
      @SlacktivityCh 5 місяців тому

      Happy you learned something from this video :) In the end it is not about right or wrong. To improve your balance and joint stability it is best to work with all different tensions and slackline lengths. But to walk blindfold, looser lines are clearly easier ;-)

    how do you feel rigging tree anchors that are right on cliff edges? not judging just curious how it feels? personally i prefer the tree to be a little back from the cliff

    • @SlacktivityCh
      @SlacktivityCh 7 місяців тому

      For me it depends on the ground whether it is OK or not. It is clearly a wiser choice to use trees that are further back and to use the trees close to the cliff as A-frames. Sometimes it messes with the dynamics of a freestyle line though. Here we've used a rather small tree pretty close to the cliff as a first anchor, but it is tightly strapped back to a bigger tree a bit further off the cliff. And we are intending to strap it back to another tree which is even a bit further back. With a solid spanset.

      @SlacktivityCh 7 місяців тому

      Happy that you like it! Yeah, Highline Freestyle has developed a lot over the last years. 6-7 years ago I landed the first sofa roll and it has been a Worlds First. Nowadays it is not even considered a warm-up trick anymore for the stronger athletes... And the level will continue to rise!! :D
