Great vid that conforts me in my progress, can't wait for "Basics 2" !
just bought a slackline 5 days ago and this series hit perfect timing :) thank you
Great to hear that the timing is right :) Pushes us to speed up with the second video...
Please keep it coming! Recently got into slacklining and i want to learn alllll the tricks until im highlining like a pro
Yeeah, I love to feel that stoke that you have! With enough motivation you'll be highlining in no time!
Super helpful, hope to see the part 2 soon;)
Thanks :) Yep, we're already working on part 2 but with summer holidays it will probably take a few weeks to be ready.
Samuel eres un grande. Esos ejercicios desde la pedagogía son geniales. Para la iniciación del slackline
awesome, good to see you promote feet2feet 😎
Can't wait for the part 2 :)
is this event going to happen again?
Ninja warrior athlete from Canada! our ninja community would love to have you guys setup near us!
Thank you for this great material, super interesting to watch! I have a question though- whats the advantage of a kingpin shackle over a screw- locked carabiner? Seems to le like its a lot easier to leave a shackle not locked completely with a pin than to leave a binner unsecured. I'm a rope access technician, just started walking on a slackline, and all those rigging techniques that you're using are familiar to me, but with a totally different equipment. I will be super grateful for Your answer!
First big difference is the breaking strength. Even though the weight is similar, the KingPin is 2-3x stronger compared to a carabiner. Also: Carabiners are really prone to cycling loading whereas the KingPin is much more resistent with it. Then a screw gate carabiner can unscrew with vibrations. In climbing this is mostly less of an issue, but in highlining much more so. Once the KingPin is properly locked it is a an extremely strong, safe and light weight option.
very vivid explanation
👍😄😃 Thank You
Thanks brother
Oh i saw you in Seelisberg😂. Went there to smoke with a friend of mine.
I had seen the tutorial before getting on the line; When I went up for the first time I thought I was safe from the shaking (obviously it wasn't, it was quite uncomfortable) I only remembered the case of the bodybuilders. Seeing it again was very instructive and, above all, hopeful.
Thanks for showing us that. I didn't realize there were so many mounts
Sooo nice video ... 🤩 Btw, what's this song?
I wanna basejump it! 😁
such a cool tutorial! we need more of these. love how it is explained in a holistic way. going through each progression even helps understanding some other lower level tricks technique
Siete dee, fantastiche
Very helpful Sam, thank you very much!
Great collection of videos... loved the dog...incredible humans! 👏👏👏
Nice skills! Bravo!
Olala saw some things left at this level I want to try and play wit🤩🤸♀️
great video KEEP PUSHING LFG!!!!!
WOW how long has it taken to get to this level ,great video im totally new to slacklining im waiting for sunny weather and learning asap
This has taken a few years! Nowadays it is much easier and faster to get there, but when Sam tried these tricks, highline freestyle was rather new. Many of the tricks have not been invented and the setups were not as performant as nowadays. Btw, the videos of the levels 8-10 are coming soon ^^
@@SlacktivityCh it was like that when i learnt juggling slow to begin with then the brain seems to open up to the concept and progress is much quicker ... great videos i look forward to more , if ever you need crypto guides i have a following on X any questions just ask ! have a great day!!!
great tips and amazing scenery , im hoping to start this as the weather improves thanks for the tips !!!
Thanks so much! Spring is coming ;-) Enjoy your time on the line and the progress!
How The hella high you are?????good job man...
Thanks :) The lake is 400m lower than the highline...
Thank you for this series, it's really helpful :-)
Thank you very much for all these tricklist videos ! Got a nice and long to do list now. Go ahead for next level videos please ! 😊
Awesome that you like them!! Level 8 is already shot, just need to edit. For 9 & 10 we have to wait for better weather and conditions... Coming soon ;-)
Same here thanks! sooo ready to try & play tomorrow working on completing all of level 4 for now🤸♀️🥳
Brilliant! Amazing! Human abilities & possibilities!
it would be amazing to see video about how to walk faster on slackline.
One mistake i often see in the park is overusing the ground to get in the right position to stand up. If you get used to that little help, then on a highline it will be difficult to find yourself comfortable while positioning to stand up.
thanks looks fun!!!
Exactly what I needed for my next project :)
thanks very much and no 10 minutes in the beginning explaining the reason for the video... definitely liked
i am on my Giboard everyday, & my body seems to produce some drugs,,,, mostly only dopamine i guess
Danke sehr gut
After about one month, I have just watched your video a 2nd time. In the meanwhile, I had a few highline sessions where I watched my friends rigging, and I also co-rigged. And - surprise, surprise: I think I could follow and understand every single step now! 🙂 I will probably watch your video again in maybe one or two months, just to see if I fully understood the whole rigging setup. Thanks again for this great video, merry christmas and a happy new year!
wait. so has my line been to tight? Man. I been really cranking on the line to make it as tight as I could . . . come to find out that I should set up higher, and make the line looser and pliable. I have been doing it all wrong. I will have to set up a looser line such that the line is setup high, but the slack brings the line lower so I can easily stand on the line from a lowered height. I didn't know that the slack and the give of the line helps with balance. I will say, though, that i had some clues that this could have been true, as I found that when I bounced up and down on the line, even if it was a tight line, that I had a bit more balance at times. I think that is the same principle, sort of, using line movement and sway as a way to keep the balance.
Happy you learned something from this video :) In the end it is not about right or wrong. To improve your balance and joint stability it is best to work with all different tensions and slackline lengths. But to walk blindfold, looser lines are clearly easier ;-)
When you're highlining but might go bouldering later on.
And the fingers are already perfectly warmed up from the rocket mounts..Tbh, I love the mix of both sports - specially in a location like Magic Woods it is just perfect!
DUDE! You're a beast. Love the calm instruction.
you are inspiring
Thank you!! If you feel inspired, I have some highline courses to offer in 2024...
Man this is so Epic!!!
how do you feel rigging tree anchors that are right on cliff edges? not judging just curious how it feels? personally i prefer the tree to be a little back from the cliff
For me it depends on the ground whether it is OK or not. It is clearly a wiser choice to use trees that are further back and to use the trees close to the cliff as A-frames. Sometimes it messes with the dynamics of a freestyle line though. Here we've used a rather small tree pretty close to the cliff as a first anchor, but it is tightly strapped back to a bigger tree a bit further off the cliff. And we are intending to strap it back to another tree which is even a bit further back. With a solid spanset.
I love these lengthier videos. I learn pretty much all of my slacklining from this YT channel. Rocket Mount with a crash pad?!!! I see you keep your arms in a bit tight for the rocket. Interesting. I'm going to go back and watch your rocket tutorial again <3
Great to hear that you like the videos :) I keep the arms bent to protect my shoulders and elbows. Most other freestylers don't do that - it creates more momentum with long arms.
Anyone else notice the sky at the end? Don't look up...
I haven't watched your content in a while but, I'm sorry, what the actual fuck?!? This is the most incredible thing I've ever seen, it's like it's from another planet! When did you get so good?
Happy that you like it! Yeah, Highline Freestyle has developed a lot over the last years. 6-7 years ago I landed the first sofa roll and it has been a Worlds First. Nowadays it is not even considered a warm-up trick anymore for the stronger athletes... And the level will continue to rise!! :D
